A Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) initiative that gives communities information, time and space to develop their own local energy vision
Staverton, Hilperton, Semington and Great Hinton
Future Energy Landscapes has been working in the Staverton, Hilperton, Semington and Great Hinton areas since April 2026. It is a partnership between Wiltshire council, the Centre for Sustainable Energy and Bath and West Community Energy.
The aim of Future Energy Landscapes is to engage the community in open conversations about renewable energy schemes that could be owned by the community and run for the benefit of the people living in the area.
We are interested to find out how local people feel about community-owned renewable energy projects, such as wind turbines and solar farms. This includes:
-
If residents would support a renewable energy project in the area.
-
How the community could benefit from such a renewable energy scheme.
This page tells you more about how you can get involved.

What's happened so far?
April 2026
We held a workshop at Staverton Social Club on 2 April 2026 to start a conversation about community energy in the area and explore possibilities for community benefit. The workshop was attended by four people in the local area and helped to shape what engagement should look like for the rest of the project. The next step is to launch an open survey and attend some local events, to gather insights from the wider community.
