Tisbury, Fonthill Gifford and Hindon

Future Energy Landscapes has been working in the Tisbury, Fonthill Gifford and Hindon areas since March 2026. It is a partnership between Nadder Community Energy, Wiltshire Council, and the Centre for Sustainable Energy.

The aim of Future Energy Landscapes is to engage the community in open conversations about renewable energy schemes that could be owned by the community and run for the benefit of the people living in the area.

We are interested to find out what local people feel about a community-owned wind turbine or solar farm in the Tisbury, Fonthill Gifford and Hindon area. This includes:

  • If residents would support renewable energy in the area.

  • Where a wind turbine or solar farm could be located.

  • How the community could benefit from such renewable energy scheme.

This page tells you more about what has been happening in your local area, and which current opportunities you can get involved in.

Complete our survey

Tell us what you think about community-owned renewable energy projects via our short survey. This is open until Sunday 26 July 2026. Read the summary report from the community workshop in March 2026 if you didn't attend for extra information.

What's happened so far?

March 2026

We held a workshop at Hinton Hall to start a conversation about community energy in the area and explore possibilities for community benefit, and possible areas for a renewable energy project. The workshop was attended by 35 people from the area.

April 2026

We ran a workshop with 11 young people from the organisation Seeds4Success to find out what they think about community-owned renewable energy in their area. The young people agreed that the best way to protect their local biodiversity and nature in the long term was to combat climate change through building renewables. They suggested ideas for community benefit around night time safety for young people, free buses for young people, more leisure activities and public toilets.

What happens next?

We will be popping up at some local events to share the survey and speak to more people in the area to find out what they think about community energy. The survey will close on Sunday 26 July 2026.

Once these steps are complete, we will produce a report summarising the findings from engagement throughout the project to help guide possible future development.
